Energy and climate ratings

Among 26,745 valid DPEs of homes (excluding generated DPEs) in Cannes, rating C is the most common; 54% reach ratings A to C.

If the homes with a DPE in Cannes had the same mix of building age and type (house, flat) as mainland France, the F+G share would be 5.2% (+0.4 pt versus the observed figure).

Small homes are the most often poorly rated in Cannes: 11% of assessed homes under 25 m² are rated F or G, against 2.8% for those of 70-99 m².

For 16% of homes with a DPE in Cannes whose published class is reproduced, the climate rating (greenhouse-gas emissions) sets the DPE class: the final rating is the worse of the two (18% in mainland France).

14% of homes with a DPE in Cannes whose published class is reproduced would change rating with 5 kWh/m²/year of consumption, or 1 kg CO₂/m²/year of emissions, more or less: they sit on a class boundary (3,605 homes; 12% in mainland France). For them, a small measurement gap or a minor work can move the letter.

Frequently asked questions — Cannes

How many energy-inefficient homes are there in Cannes?

Of the 26,745 homes with a DPE (excluding generated DPEs) since 1 July 2021 whose DPE is valid on 25 August 2026, 1,291 are rated F or G (4.8%), including 343 rated G. At building age and type comparable to mainland France, the share would be 5.2%. These are homes with a DPE, not every home in the city.

Which postcode of Cannes has the highest share of F- or G-rated homes?

Among homes with a DPE (excluding generated DPEs), it is 06400: 5.3% are rated F or G, out of 21,829 DPEs. 06150 has the lowest share (2.6%). The table by postcode also gives, for each, the share of flats and of homes built before 1948 among assessed homes.

How are homes in Cannes heated?

According to their DPEs, homes in Cannes are mainly heated by electricity (57%), natural gas (38%), heating oil (3.8%). In mainland France, electricity heats 50% of homes with a DPE and natural gas 36%.

Why are some DPEs in Cannes generated from the building?

28% of valid DPEs in Cannes were generated from the building's DPE, without a rating measured for the flat itself. The rules allow this for flats in an already-assessed building. These DPEs are counted separately on this page: they report F and G less often in older buildings, and almost never summer comfort.

What do DPEs in Cannes say about summer comfort?

94% of homes with a DPE in Cannes fill in the DPE's summer comfort section. Of these, 28% are rated insufficient, 48% average and 24% good. The fill-in rate varies widely: these figures describe DPEs that complete the section, not the whole city.
