Energy and climate ratings

Among 12,890 valid DPEs of homes (excluding generated DPEs) in Colombes, rating C is the most common; 29% reach ratings A to C.

If the homes with a DPE in Colombes had the same mix of building age and type (house, flat) as mainland France, the F+G share would be 22% (-4.5 pts versus the observed figure).

By floor area, the F+G share among homes with a DPE in Colombes ranges from 20% (70-99 m²) to 35% (25-39 m²).

For 25% of homes with a DPE in Colombes whose published class is reproduced, the climate rating (greenhouse-gas emissions) sets the DPE class: the final rating is the worse of the two (18% in mainland France).

11% of homes with a DPE in Colombes whose published class is reproduced would change rating with 5 kWh/m²/year of consumption, or 1 kg CO₂/m²/year of emissions, more or less: they sit on a class boundary (1,424 homes; 12% in mainland France). For them, a small measurement gap or a minor work can move the letter.

Frequently asked questions — Colombes

How many energy-inefficient homes are there in Colombes?

Of the 12,890 homes with a DPE (excluding generated DPEs) since 1 July 2021 whose DPE is valid on 25 August 2026, 3,451 are rated F or G (27%), including 1,560 rated G. At building age and type comparable to mainland France, the share would be 22%. These are homes with a DPE, not every home in the city.

Why are some DPEs in Colombes generated from the building?

32% of valid DPEs in Colombes were generated from the building's DPE, without a rating measured for the flat itself. The rules allow this for flats in an already-assessed building. These DPEs are counted separately on this page: they report F and G less often in older buildings, and almost never summer comfort.

How are homes in Colombes heated?

According to their DPEs, homes in Colombes are mainly heated by natural gas (62%), electricity (29%), heating oil (5.8%). In mainland France, electricity heats 50% of homes with a DPE and natural gas 36%.

What do DPEs in Colombes say about summer comfort?

87% of homes with a DPE in Colombes fill in the DPE's summer comfort section. Of these, 44% are rated insufficient, 42% average and 14% good. The fill-in rate varies widely: these figures describe DPEs that complete the section, not the whole city.
